Vintage Chifferobe Project

I just finished my latest project, a vintage wood chifferobe.  I painted it antique coral and then brushed on antiquing stain, wiping it off right away.  I distressed the edges, then added the vintage wallpaper to side panels and lower front panel.  Newest addition to my vintage rental business.

Venturing into Vintage Rental

On a small scale, I'm planning to venture into the vintage rental business in the upcoming year.  I have so many pieces that I love, cannot use in my smaller home, but I cannot bring myself to sell. Why not offer them for rent for events or photography shoots?  My first step is to inventory my pieces and get some marketing photos scheduled.

Fresh Flower Arrangement

I found an old drawer and some very old glass bottles - you know the kind, they have calcifications and rust spots inside that you just cannot wash out.  I painted both the bottles and drawer with parchment white craft paint that is okay to use on glass. It covered up the stains well.  I distressed the bottles and placed them inside the drawer.  I formed the fresh flower arrangment around them, tucking peonies, roses, mint sprigs in. Then I put long spikes of wild indigo in each bottle.

Furniture Flip - FARMERS MARKET side table

A wood side table with a wicker panel in the lower shelf was given a new look with Martha Stewart Vintage Decor paint in "Antique Sky."  From the paint name, you would expect it to be blue, but it is a aqua green shade.  Vintage ephemera is decoupaged to the top in a scattered manner, along with a Farmers Market ad image, and the top is sealed with clear polycrylic.   Annie Sloan clear wax was applied to the rest of the table.

Old Military Trunk Coffee Table

I found this old military trunk while out picking.  Bun feet were bolted to the bottom, and it is painted with Martha Stewart's Vintage Decor Paint in Charcoal, although on this piece it is a steel gray color.  I distressed it and then waxed it.  Love how it turned out.  I left the wonderful original paper inside intact.

Reclaimed Dresser Drawer Wedding Card Holder

I found this old dresser drawer, added reclaimed legs from an old table that was made into a coffee table, metal drawer pulls and pretty papers for lining. Makes a unique wedding card holder for a vintage style wedding, don't you think?
